Classroom Activities

What are we working on?

In Math we will be working on Patterns (identifying, creating and predicting), calendar and days of the week, and Numeracy Skills through reviewing basic facts and developing mental math skills.  You can work on math facts with your child and help them with rapid recall of addition and subtraction to 20.

In LA we will be reviewing vowel sounds for our phonics/spelling program, completing reading assessments, and beginning our writing program starting with sentence structure.

In Social Studies we will be learning about and comparing different communities in Canada with our community and utilizing our mapping skills.

In Science we will be working on our Investigating Materials unit and examining properties of materials, both natural and processed, and the suitability for a specific purpose.

In Physical Education and Wellness, we will be focusing on cooperative games and on positive interactions and the concept of having a Growth Mindset.
